A not-for-profit Spanish school since 1989 that offers 25-hours weekly of custom tailored one-on-one Spanish classes for beginners to advanced, business, medical, social work, university accredited courses, Juan Sisay Spanish School has been providing language instruction and immersion to people from around the world since 1989. It is located in the town of Quetzaltenango (Xela), nestled high in the mountains of the Western Highlands of Guatemala.
While studying Spanish at Juan Sisay, you will learn to speak, read, listen and comprehend Spanish. You will also learn about cultural, historical, and political aspects of Guatemala. Our teachers are university-educated and certified in teaching Spanish conversation, comprehension, and grammar. Juan Sisay is also a registered and recognized Spanish school by the Guatemala government.
A typical instructional schedule is 5 hours of one-on-one teaching, Monday through Friday each week, or a flexible custom-designed class schedule can also be tailor-made to fit your needs. Additional mini-conferences are held twice a week. These are designed to help further your listening skills in Spanish while learning about Guatemala. Every afternoon, Juan Sisay provides private guided excursions or activities in and around Quetzaltenango as well as to surrounding pueblos. You will visit exciting areas where most tourists do not go! On the weekends, longer excursions are organized by the school and guided by a Juan Sisay teacher.
Whether you are a college student looking to fulfill your language requirements, a business professional needing to enhance your resumé, or a retiree who wants to learn a new language and really get to know a new culture – Juan Sisay is right for you!
