The SDI is the language institute for you. At the SDI you will learn German in an international and student-friendly environment. After attending our German as a foreign language program (Deutsch als Fremdsprache/DaF), you are prepared to attend our vocational school (Berufsfachschule) where we train multilingual administrative assistants, our professional school (Fachakademie) where we train translators and interpreters, or you can continue your studies with a BA or MA at our University of Applied Languages (Hochschule für Angewandte Sprachen). We offer expertise in languages and communication in all of our programs.
Learning German
Highly-qualified teachers: Our teaching staff supports each student’s success through modern, effective teaching methods. Our friendly, competent teachers provide a wide range of activities to help students develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening in communicative situations.
German Certificates: The SDI offers two tests, which upon successful completion, enable students to study at any German university: DSP II (Deutsche Sprachprüfung Niveau 2) and TestDaF.
Targeted learning: Through our free placement test, we will establish your language level and you will be placed in the correct language course (level A1-C2).
Living German
German immersion in Munich: You will be attending classes in one of the most beautiful and beloved cities in Germany. Our cultural program will enable you to discover the many interesting facets of this alpine metropolis.
German in Context: In addition to our regular language-focussed classes, we offer content courses including Applied Geography, German Social Studies, The German Political System, and German Economics.
Experiment with German: You will have the opportunity to attend elective courses including Drama Games and Sketches, Quirky German Orthography, Colorful Idioms, and German Films & Discussion.
